The Princes in the Tower
Richard took the crown when Edward 4th died, his brother who sat on the throne.
Edwards sons were the Princes Richard said were too young. They could wait until they were grown.
He would reign as Protector, he told the boys, and he gave them some rooms in the Tower.
But unknown to them, they'd be prisoners there, leaving Richard solely in power.
The boys were a thorn in Richard's side as they languished in their prison,
they would have to go to realise, Richard's kingly ambition.
So on a dark stormy night, while they slept side by side, the boys disappeared from view.
Never to be seen by anyone, they had gone without leaving a clue.
Theories were plenty and stories were cast,
of the mystery surrounding the pair,
some said they'd escaped and were hidden away
while others said they were on the continent somewhere.
Imposters were brought out, and paraded about
but were soon dismissed out of hand,
Richard was King, and before everything
another war was now planned.
The two boys were forgot, as the war was in plot,
Henry Tudor was gathering a force.
Bosworth field was the site, where each gathered his might,
And Richard died as Henry's claim was enforced.
